Inspired by young minds
Our journey began with a group of secondary school children in Southend who, after working with Southend Food Bank, understood the challenges food banks face with getting a balance of items, storage and water.
Their simple but powerful idea inspired the creation of BanktheFood, a solution that connects donors with food banks in real time.
Today, our charity continues to grow, helping food banks across the UK receive donations tailored to their needs.

With clever technology, our free app connects food banks with donors at the touch of a button, making sure essential supplies get to those who need them.
When donors arrive at the supermarket, they receive alerts about their local food bank's most needed items, helping food banks stock their shelves with exactly what’s needed to make emergency food parcels.
